Since starting in 2002, the Batam Charity Bash has raised over US$ 3,615,076.-. The committee carefully studies social community projects that require assistance and responds to local emergency relief requirements. Through a dedicated charity account established especially for donations, the Batam International  Charity ensures effective distribution of funds, making sure that careful and appropriate purchases are made.

I wish to assure you as a matter of Batam International Charity policy, no cash contributions are made directly to the beneficiaries; only capital items, goods and/or services are provided. These are purchased via McDermott Indonesia’s purchasing system. In this way, we ensure that the funds donated go to the assistance of those less fortunate than ourselves.

The sponsors, the committee, volunteers and everyone associated with the Batam International Charity are united in one goal — to do our part to help the underprivileged of Batam. Indeed, such an event allows us to put into practice and to express the values of compassion and understanding in real, tangible terms.
